The discipline aims to develop skills in critical analysis of professional situations, based on knowledge of qualitative research paradigms. Students familiarize themselves with the main types of qualitative research – case study, grounded theory, ethnographic research, narrative methods, document analysis, interview, focus group, observation. The course also includes references to ways of processing and analyzing data, with a focus on codes, categories and themes. At the end of the course, students write a research report based on a series of interviews that they produce and apply during the semester.
