Course Description

The discipline is dedicated to the integration and development of academic skills in the university environment, providing students with essential knowledge to successfully navigate this complex context. This includes understanding university culture and the transition to academic life, exploring the role of the university and teachers, as well as effective time and task management. The emphasis is placed on the dynamics of the teaching-learning process, promoting critical thinking and rigorous academic communication.
The discipline also tackles research as a process of knowledge construction, from the structuring of a research report to the communicative purpose and critical analysis of scientific texts. Students are taught to avoid plagiarism, paraphrase correctly and include references. The development of presentation skills (including structure and visual support) prepares students for academic and professional presentations. The discipline facilitates the adaptation of academic skills to future professional career requirements.
