The general aim of the discipline is to establish/gain knowledge of orthography, morphosyntax, semantics and pragmatics and to develop skills in the use of linguistic metadiscourse. At the end of the semester the students will be able to: write texts that respect the orthography of the Romanian language, analyze statements and correctly identify the parts of speech and sentence, express themselves correctly, identify and give examples of synonyms, polysemantic words, homonyms, antonyms, etc., identify the nuances of meaning of a statement or a larger text, depending on the communicative intention of the speakers.
