The discipline is dedicated to the development of teaching/training skills and the improvement of communication skills in English. This includes facilitating an understanding of different methodological approaches to teaching and learning, as well as expanding the repertoire of teaching strategies to support student learning. Emphasis is also placed on training skills in lesson planning/design as well as assessment and materials evaluation and selection, selection of self-assessment strategies, and the development of fair assessment skills in teaching and learning.
The discipline prepares students for exposures in academic and professional teaching, facilitating the adaptation of academic skills to the requirements of future professional careers.
